The big battle at the front came from the U23 runners as Richard Jones/XCRacer and Ben Roff/Orange Monkey were locked together in a Titanic battle for 5 very fast circuits of the woods. At the bell Jones lit the after burners and put in a quite stunning lap of 9:41 to claim the win as Roff could not respond. Joshua Wells-Wallings/LORC who is only 16 was a superb third and could be one to watch in future.

Host club Treads had plenty to cheer as clubman Leszek Jezierski took his first Senior win distancing Jeremy Hicks/Rugby Velo with every lap using his local knowledge. Rob Taylor was third.

In the Ladies race Hollie Bettles/AJ Cycles looked to have the race under control from the start but a longer than usual event saw her tire on the last lap of 6 and Vincenza Perkins/Numplumz closed the gap to within 27 seconds. Kate van Lopik was third.

Bradley Symonds/Coalville Wheelers overcame the might of the Welland Valley CC Youth to take a five lap win from Ross Marriott and Louis Killworth.

The veterans race was strongly contested again but nobody had an answr to Lloyd Bettles/AJ cycles as he took the win. Scott Rose/Welland Valley CC and Nick Popham/Naked Bikes RT hung on for a lap but then Rose looked like 2nd was his untill he faded towards the end. Popham showed better endurance for second while Mike Winters/Velo Club Rutland nipped ahead on lap 5 for third.

Tim Stowe/Jewson/MI Racing once again took the Grand Veterans win which secures him the series overall for 2013, team mate Peter Busby missed some valuable points being demoted to third by Andy Webb/Kenilworth Wheelers and just hung onto third in a sprint finish from Geoff Baines/Baines Racing.

So with two rounds whats happening in the Overall Championships then.
Ryan Henry has the Seniors wrapped up and Les Jezierski has now put himself in the driving seat for second with that win, but Mark Proudman could still grab that spot with two podiums.
The Youth series goes to Bradley Symonds and Louis Killworth should take second provided he finishes one more round.
Rich Jones has a clean sweep in the U23 class with 600 points and Ben Roff again will only get second if he completes one more round.
The Ladies is alll about the last two races. Hollie Bettles can retain her title with one race finish, but if Fern Henry decides to do the last two rounds then she is hot favourite as she remains unbeaten and one of the rounds is organised by her own club.
Tim Stowe retains his Grand vets Series prize, but the final two trophy positions are still a battle between Busby, Peterson and Harris.

The Veterans is where the action is Lloyd Bettles will secure the title with a podium result in one of the final rounds while its still any one from four for the second and third spots. Mick Pilcher with a top three result will leapfrog both Nick Towers and Mike Winters and Scott Rose could do the same with two good finishes, one to watch.
